Did you ever think on how do Hospitals make huge money? and open their branches in every corner of the world?
I will give you a live example of how Fortis Hopital works:
My father has a problem of Harania and he is to be operated for this problem.
I consulted a doctor at Fortis Hospital in Mulund(west) who is an expert in operating on Harania.
He asked me to get an estimate on this surgery, in Fortis terms this type of operation is called "Level 3" surgery.
At Fortis Hospital,I was asked a question on whether i have any medical insurance or not.
I have a medical insurance with TTK health care.
Based on my answer I got two different estimate ,
one for "Economy" class which will cost me rs. 56,590.
other for "Twin Classic" class which will cost me rs. 77,800.
So far so good...
I decided to get my Dad operated at Fortis hospital and opt for Twin classic class.
A day before admission i went to the hospital and filled up all the documents needed for my Insurance company.
On the day of Admission , an hour before admission, i got a call from Fortis Hospital telling me that my bed is booked for Economy class and the entire PACKAGE will cost me rs.57,000.
When i insisted for Twin Classic class , i was provided with a new set of estimates.
This new estimate was for "Level 4" Surgery and it would cost me rs. 1,07,580.
It was difficult for me to understand how suddenly a Surgery which was of LEVEL 3 till two hours ago suddenly changed to LEVEL 4 and surgery cost was increased from Rs.77,800 to Rs.1,07,580.
When asked for this level change i was told by a fortis hospital doctor Arul vandan( Arul is an assistant to the doctor operating Harania) that this surgery of Harania is very complicated and my father can also loose his life if the operation is not done with care.
On the contrary , when i asked the doctor who would be doing the surgery , he said the operation is not complicated and would not be life threatening.
This did not go down well with me and i decided enough is enough and i will not pay this fraud Fortis Hospital such a huge amount just for a Surgery of harania. And along with my father i left from the hospital and headed to home.
If i would not have collected Estimates from Hospital before getting admitted and got this Shock at the end of Surgery then i would have been taken for a ride and fortis could have made another killing of a Insurance company's amount.

We gone through such a bad experience of FORTIS HOSPITALmulund.For 3 days they kept telling that my patient will become better having hemorrhage of brain and on 4 day they took her to decomposition anatomy of brain and after that they said operation was successful and patient will recover. But till morning we came to know that patient had bleeding internally and will not survivor.

the hospital killed my mother...they conducted an operation now visibly just a farce and kept her in hospital for 25 days. thereafter she suffered from bleeding and in three hourz she was gone. in the process they made a killing of rs 8 lacks.
